Balut is a cheap snack favoured by many Vietnamese and sold mostly at food carts in street corners or small diners.
Beside the popular style in which boiled baluts are enjoyed with salt-and-pepper-in-lime-juice dip, they can also be cooked in many other methods: stir-fry with tamarind sauce, grilled with chili salt, grilled with scallion oil, steamed with wax gourd, etc.
