Bông Bridge is a bridge over Nhiêu Lộc – Thị Nghè canal, connecting Đinh Tiên Hoàng Street, District 1 and Lê Văn Duyệt Street, Bình Thạnh District.

There are various theories for its etymological origin, many of which point out that the original name was Hoa Bridge (due to its location being near a flower garden). Under King Thiệu Trị’s rule, any place with Hoa in its name had to be changed to avoid using the maiden name of the king’s mother, Hồ Thị Hoa. Therefore, Hoa Bridge became Bông Bridge.
