Bánh tét has been a cultural staple in the life of Southern people for long; its taste and smell help warm up the atmosphere of their traditional Tết.

To avoid satiation and create new taste, they fry up the remaining bánh tét after Tết and serve them with braised pork, pickles and Chinese sausages.

Some families even enjoy the fried slices with sugar or milk, creating quite a unique taste.
