Tổ đình Giác Lâm, or Giác Lâm Pagoda, is among the oldest temples in Saigon following the school of Linji in Zen Buddhism in Vietnam’s Southern region. The place has been recognized as National Historical-Cultural Relic.

The pagoda’s structure resembles the Chinese letter “three” (chữ Tam), with three interconnected horizontal blocks: the main hall, the teaching hall and the communal kitchen. Unlike contemporary religious buildings, its distinctive main hall was constructed in the traditional way, with one four-pillar main zone and two extensions.
