was the name of Văn Miếu (The Temple to worship Saints) under Nguyễn Dynasty.
According to Đại Nam Nhất Thống Chí – Lục Tỉnh Nam Việt, from 1824 to 1825, Văn Thánh Miếu in Gia Định was constructed and this area was later named Văn Thánh.
On the land of Văn Thánh Miếu which was ruined by the war, local people built Văn Thánh Pagoda. Nowadays, this pagoda has been recognised as provincial historical-cultural relic.
