Generally, lucky money is the biggest sum of money Vietnamese children can have in a year. Many are allowed to spend it as they like, on toys, books, stationaries or whatever they desire.
Some parents also do not want to meddle with their kids’ money and only suggest them to put it in savings. The most common method is for them to keep it in their piggy banks since they can have a sense of owning their money. The sound of ruffling money inside the shaken piggy banks can bring joy to children.
